I wonder how long we will have to wait for Ontario Cup #2 schedule!!!
Also looking at the #1 schedule Level 7, 14+............
Its says 42 AA + 19 Event Specific That equals 61 athletes to my knowledge.
But then underneath it says 28 and 28, and to my knowledge thats 56 athletes.
Just wondering if they counted wrong or do they count the event specifics as half an athlete or something!!

I do not like the 5 rotation schedule. An athlete can be left sitting for quite some time between competing her next event and that is never ideal. I did however like the way they did it a few years back at Championships where one group was competing and being juged, then marched out and the next group of girls marched in and competed after having warmed up on the other equipment in the next space. It was a bit longer, but then the girls didn't ever sit around and they were all juged by the same panel on each event. I think this makes for a more consistant scoring!

Just my feeling though, there are probably pros and cons whichever way they do it!

The schedule says that "athletes are dismissed only after the last competitor on the last apparatus is finished and must report to the awards area as indicted". Does that mean that an athlete in Subdivision A must sit in the awards area for 2 hours!
I agree with the 5 rotation format that was used last year. All girls judged in the same "flight", finished at the same time. It wasn't that painful.

official list is up http://www.ogf.com/documents/event_file_9007.pdf and interesting lay out. Everyone is now wishing to be in the second subdivision. The girls that are first need to stay in the building until the very end (long day) the other group not so bad. They seem to have got around the rule of different flights by calling it one flight even if there are two individual groups of athletes at two different times. I don't like the layout.

I thought this was the reason they split the Level 5 and 6 10&11 because they had too many at the cup last year and they needed to compete in two flights. It made for an extreamly long day as everyone need to wait for all to be complete. They could have handled this with 5 rotation or like they did Provincials before the cup where all the girls were out together half on competition floor half on warm up floor. Sure it made for a long day but at least they were all judged together. I beleive they did away with this because they have a rule that the girls can only be on the floor for a certain length of time.

So I ask if this is the schedule what happened to this rule???
At the Annual Assembly, Motion #14 was carried and stated that any category that requires two flights to qualify from Ontario Cups to Championships should not be allowed. This is from Technical Bulletin#1 as distributed on Nov 30, 2009 to coaches and clubs.

I don't understand why they are doing subdivisions instead of using 5 rotations (with one rest rotation per group) which I have seen done before with large flights. Except for the L7 14+ flight, the others are all under 50 girls which could be handled with a 5 rotation setup.

As for the L7 14+ group, it is only so large because, for some inexplicable reason, all of the 42 AA's qualified instead of just 70% as stated. If they actually took only 70% of the AA's, the this group would only be 30AA's plus 19 event specialists giving a total flight size of 49, a size that a 5 rotation system would handle (each group would be 9 or 10 girls).

I am baffled.

are we sure these days/times are right? I will now have to hopefully get a room Thursday night and take a day off work which I may not be able to do on such short notice! Terrible organization. I don't like to come on here and complain but this is very frustrating!!
is the schedule going to be posted?
