Alyssa Brown – Stanford

Aisha Gerber – UCLA
Club – Won the vault title and placed in the Top 12 in the all-around at the 2008 International Gymnix meet … Qualified for the event finals on vault at the 2008 Cottbus World Cup, placing sixth … Became the first Canadian woman ever to medal at the American Cup when she placed third in the all-around in 2006 … Helped Canada win a team bronze medal at the 2006 Pacific Alliance Championships … Placed fifth on floor exercise and sixth on balnce beam at the 2006 World Cup finals … Won the 2005 Canadian national uneven bars title and placed fifth in the all-around … Third on vault in the junior competition at the 2004 Pacific Alliance Meet … Canadian junior all-around and vault champion in 2004 … Trained at Oakville Gymnastics Club under coaches Kelly and Susan Manjak, Lorne Bobkin and Ashley Sportun.

Alexandra Grant – Iowa
Club – 2007 Eastern Canadian Champion … Tour Selection Champion in 2006 … finished fourth overall at the Kurt Thomas Invitational … competed in club for 10 years at Gymnastics Mississauga … career-high scores include a 16.1 on floor, 15.3 on both bars and vault and 15.0 on beam … an honor roll student … attended Silverthorn Collegiate Institute … coached by Alex Bard at Gymnastics Mississauga

Danielle Goldman – BYU
Club – National open gymnast…trained at Laval Excellence in Montreal…competed for Canada at 2005 Maccabbi Games in Israel, finishing third in the all-around and helping team Canada to a Silver Medal.

Brittnee Habbib – Nebraska
Club – A senior high-performance gymnast, Habbib was a five-year member of the Canadian National Team with current Huskers Kylie Stone and Vanessa Meloche. Habbib was coached by former Olympic gold medalist Yelena Davydova and Ukrainian men’s all-around champion Valery Yahchybekov at Gemini Gymnastics.
Habbib, who represented Canada at the 2006 World Championships, tied for fifth in the all-around and eighth on beam at the 2006 Canadian National Championships. She also helped the Canadian team to a third-place finish at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and notched a 15th-place all-around showing at the 2005 Pan Am Games.
Habbib was the 2006 recipient of the African Canadian Achievement Award in the youth division, in addition to several outstanding international achievement honors. Habbib was also the 2007 Harry Jerome Recipient for Youth in Athletics award.

Nicole Heikkila – Michigan State
Club – Competed with the Sport Seneca Gymnastics team for coaches Carol Angela Orchard, Brian McVey, Lawson Hamer and Lisa Cowan … Fourth in the all-around and first on the beam at the 2007 Canadian National Championships, helping Ontario to the team national championship … Won the bronze medal on the beam at the 2007 Canadian Winter Games … Part of the Canadian Youth and Junior National Team … 2003 Canadian Novice National Champion in the all-around, bars and floor exercise … Has competed in numerous international competitions, including meets in Slovenia, Belgium and England … Honor roll student.

Melissa Hough – BYU
Club – Trained at Ortona Gymnastics Club…member of Canadian National Team as a novice and junior…four year senior-high performer…competed in various international competitions around the world…finished second in the all-around at a meet in Belgium in 2005…finished 13th in the all-around at the 2005 Canadian National Championships.

Ashley Houghting – Washington
Info: Daughter of Tracy and Rhoda Houghting … Has one sister, Melanie … Attended Northview Heights Secondary School in Toronto, Ontario, where she lettered in soccer and basketball … Trained at Sports Seneca … Competed in Japan in September of 2002, placing second on vault, third on beam and fifth all-around.

Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs – UCLA
Club – Competed at the 2008 Olympic Games and placed 16th in the all-around … Competed for Team Canada at the 2005-07 World Championships … Became the first Canadian woman ever to win a World Championship medal when she placed third on beam at the 2006 Worlds in Denmark … Also placed 16th in the all-around in 2006 … Placed ninth in qualifying on the uneven bars at the 2005 Worlds … Tied for first in the all-around and won gold on bars and beam and team bronze at the 2006 Commonwealth Games … Won the Canadian national all-around titles in 2008 and 2006 … Also claimed national titles on floor exercise in 2006 and balance beam in 2005 and the junior all-around and uneven bars titles in 2003 … Trained at Sport Seneca Gymnastics under coaches Carol-Angela Orchard and Brian McVey.

Claude de Jocas – Yale
Club – de Jocas joined the Bulldogs from Futures Gymnastics. At the National Open level, she placed 2nd on vault, 3rd on floor, and 5th in the all-around at the Eastern Canadian Championships in 2006. In 2007, at the same competition, she placed 3rd on beam and 2nd on vault and in the all-around, and qualified to the Elite Canada Championships. de Jocas graduated from Lorne Park Secondary School.

Jennifer Lezeu – BYU
Club – Senior national team member for three years national team finished seventh at the 2006 Commonwealth Trials finished 12th in the all-around at Slovanias International meet went to Bella Karolyis ranch in Texas for the USA vs. Canada meet represented Canada Internationally for three years made floor finals at the 2005 Canadian National Championships in Vancouver and placed fourth member of the 2004 Pan American Team who placed second Gymnix International floor runner-up Eighth place in the all around competition at the 2005 Canadian National Championships seventh place at the 2005 Romanian International all around competition junior floor and vault champion in 2004 took 12th in the all around at the 2006 Stella International in Ukraine.

Gael Mackie – UTAH
Club – As a 16-year-old, Mackie competed for Canada at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece … at the 2007 Canadian National Championships, she placed fifth all-around and third on bars … made the World Championships team in 2006 … won the all-around, vault, bars and beam at the 2007 Friendship Classic … finished seventh in the all-around to lead Canada to a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games … 2003 Senior National all-around champion … fourth-place all-around showing and a bronze medal on the beam at the 2002 WOGA Classic … seventh in the all-around (the best finish by a Canadian) and second on the beam at the 2002 Pacific Alliance meet … 2002 Canadian Junior National all-around, vault and floor champion placed second on bars … 2001 Canadian Junior National vault champion … won the uneven bars at the 2002 Elite Canada Championships and the balance beam in 2003 … trained for Vladimir and Svetlana Lashin at Omega Gymnastics Academy … graduated from Burnaby Central Secondary where she made the honor roll.

Leslie Mak – Oregon
Club – Moved from Toronto to Stamford, Conn. prior to her senior year of high school … Trained at Arena Gymnastics under coaches Laurie and Frank DeFrancesco for one year … Trained at Sport Seneca under coaches Carol-Angela Orchard, Lawson Hamer and Lisa Cowan for seven years … Was a member of the Canadian National Team … Participated at the Siska Competition in Slovenia, the Rushmoore Rose Bowl in England and the Stella Zakharova Cup in Ukraine … Is a former teammate of several Division I gymnasts including Ashley Houghting of Washington and Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs of UCLA.

Stephanie McGregor – Oregon
Club – Trained at Gymtastics Gym Club under coaches Tammy Andreotti and Karen Haverstock for two years and at Altadore Gymnastics for 10 years under the same coaches … In 2008, qualified for Senior High Performance List … Finished sixth on the floor exercise at the 2007 Canada Winter Games … Finished first on floor, second on bars and fourth in the all-aroiund at the 2007 National Open … Was a nationals qualifier 2005-08.

Heather Purnell – Stanford
Club – Team captain of Canada’s 2004 Olympic gymnastics team in Athens … second all-around at the 2002 and 2003 Canadian national championships … Canadian runner-up in bars (2002), vault (2004) and floor (2004) … third all-around in 2004 Olympic trials … competed in Olympic prelims in vault (17th), floor (21st) and all-around (40th) … member of 10th place team … two-time all-around winner at Elite Canada (2002, 2004) … 2000 Canadian junior all-around champion … a 2005 graduate of Gloucester High School in Ottawa, Ontario … trained at the Ottawa Gymnastics Centre in Ottawa.

Casey Sandy – Penn State
Club – Competed on the Canadian National Team…Placed third in the individual all-around at the 2004 Canadian Nationals and fourth in the individual all-around at the 2005 Canadian Nationals…Participated at the 2003 World Championships, helping his team take ninth place…At the Madeira Cup in 2004, earned third place in the individual all-around…Placed second in the individual all-around at the 2005 Stella Zakharova Cup…Took fourth in the team all-around and sixth in the individual all-around at the 2005 FISU games.

Jennifer Simbhudas – Iowa
Club – Finished second on beam at 2005 Gymnix…placed second on beam and third on vault at 2005 Elite Canada competition…placed eighth all-around at 2004 Olympic Trials…placed fifth at 2004 Canadian National Championships…finished first all-around at Elite Canada competition in 2001…finished 49th all-around at 2001 World Championships…placed fifth at 2002 Canadian National.

Rebecca Simbhudas – Iowa
Club – Two-time Canadian World Championship team member… finished second on beam and seventh in the all-around at 2007 Canadian National Championships… finished eighth on the all-around at the 2006 Canadian National Championships… finished sixth on beam at 2006 Cottbus World Cup… finished second on bars at 2005 Maribor World Cup.

Kylie Stone – Nebraska
Club – Stone competed for Coaches Dave and Judy Holmes at Stampede City Gymnastics Club in Calgary, Alberta. She placed second in the all-around at the 2005 Canadian National Championships, as well as third on vault, fifth on bars, fifth on beam and second on floor. Widely considered one of the top gymnasts in Canada, Stone competed at the 2003 World Championships in Anaheim, Calif., helping her country’s team qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games and making history as an individual competitor by becoming the highest-ranking Canadian all-around finisher in the history of the World Championships.
Stone had incredible success as an elite gymnast, winning individual crowns in the all-around, beam and floor at the 2004 Canadian National Championships. She was also the national beam champion in 2003. Stone took the bronze medal on floor at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England, while finishing fifth on bars and eighth in the all-around.

Melanie Tham – Iowa
Club – Member of the Canadian National Team 2003-04 … 2005 Canadian Nationals all-around, bars, and beam champion … placed third as a team at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2003 … recipient of the Bronze Key for academic achievements … four-year honor roll student.
